Thanks for keeping us up to date on this. :-)

The acting and writing will likely be cringeworthy, but I have to say that the shuffling around of characters like Vachon in the canon could be interesting. If anything, it might inspire someone to write a fun AU that could incorporate elements from this movie into our show.

Yeah. At first I though this might originally have been an AU from the first season, but this looks like everything will be different. Might be interesting about Vachon. I never really liked the character originally, but this Vachon would be completely differnt and sounds more interesting. As for the writing, I think they are still writing the script.

What a story that would be to incorporate the new movie, the Nick Knight movie, and the show! Parallel universes collide!

Turned in 70 BC? That would imply a totally different character. Gone are the chivalristic qualities that make him so endearing.
I never cared about Vachon. To have him impact Nick's life makes me cringe.
I don't know.Sounds like they skipped everything I liked about the show.

Yes, I had to look at that date a few times. That places him much older than LaCroix from the show. Can't image what is unique about that year that it had to be that particular year. It seems like the only thing they kept were the names. We'll have to see what they ended up doing for the script and how the movie is put together, if it gets that far.

In its own right, the movie may or may not prove to be good. It does look, though, as if they've changed so much about the actual characters that they might as well just have gone the whole hog and changed the names, as well.

(It would certainly be easier on us that way.)

I wonder why they even bothered to buy the rights to the "Forever Knight" name. I mean, I doubt if there's really that much name recognition in FK nowadays for that to be a major plus for them.   *sigh*   The ways of Hollywood are, as usual, inexplicable to anyone living in the real world.

I know! Since so much has changed, it would be easier to just create new names and then there would be no confusion. I guess this is what was meant by "loosely-based on the TV show" and having to work with the copyrights.
