Taxes

So its another year and, since I am a creature of habit, I once again procrastinated getting my taxes filed.  Its really bad this year since, because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the due date for taxes were delayed by 3 months.  And I still managed to wait until the last minute!  Seems I don't owe too much this year, and I am trusting TurboTax on that, since it seems a bit low but what do I know?  

Crunching the numbers went faster this year (though I saved a lot online and then the internet was out today so I couldn't get to all my stuff until later in the evening).

I think for next year I'll be on top of everything and get it done quickly.  Hahahaha, yeah, right!  I'll procrastinate like I always do.

Yeah, I'm self-employed for most of the year so estimating taxes can be hard, so I really don't know what I owe until I do my taxes. So it's good it was a low amount I owed; if it's too high then I get to pay a penalty ontop of what I owe!

I must admit, I didn't submit mine until yesterday, either. :-)

I did all the math way back right before COVID hit, but from the night that I carried my work computer and monitor home up to yesterday, my personal PC has been disconnected so that my work computer could hog my desk and all my peripherals and cables. And also, emotionally, turn what used to be my desk in my home into my employer's desk in my home. :-/

(I ran the fest via my phone and my Chromebook. Um. Not doing that again; lesson learned! I'm going to squeeze a folding-table desk into my bedroom and set up my PC for my non-work computing, as we'll be working from home at least through the end of the calendar year.)

Oh, having that extra computer would be a problem for me too! Yeah, its hard enough sometimes separating personal life from work, but to have work set up right there in your home it can be quite disruptive.

Ours was delayed too. And I also procrastinated—though I did just make the deadline.

Why are we like this?   :(

(ANSWER: Because we have so many so much more fun things we want to do. Even in lockdown.)

It just always seems to be for the taxes - I manage to get lots of other things done in plenty of time!
