A part of the Stratford Festival is a series called the Forum, where there are special one day or short run events like workshops, guest speakers, lunches, panel discussions, etc. This year, GWD will be in two Forum events.
The first is a discussion of the Playbill called The Faces of Falstaff and will be on 3 July in the Chalmers Lounge in the Avon Theatre. GWD has played the character of Falstaff (considered to be one of Shakespeare's greatest creations) in all three of the plays the character is present in, and will be playing him again in the Merry Wives of Windsor next year. This Forum discussion will talk about whether the Falstaff character (who behaves very differently in the plays) is to be considered the same man or was he deliberately changed and is a different character.
The second event is a performance called If Love Were All: A Coward Cabaret and will be on 19 Oct in the Studio Theatre. Songs by Noel Coward will be performed by GWD and other members of the company.
